Today we had reservations for RMN Park to enter from 7am-11am. Our first time closing up the RV went pretty smooth, I only got a little grey water on myself, Julie and the girls were helpful locking up compartments and wrapping up some cables. We rode out just after 8:30 and were in RMN Park just before 9am. Today’s mission is to go to Bear Lake, hike to Alberta falls, have a picnic lunch, and then get on the road to Wyoming.
The hike up to Alberta falls was great. It was about 1 mile to the falls, got some nice pictures along the way, and we explored a little beyond the falls. We then realized the time and headed back to go to Bear lake. We had a nice picnic looking out on the lake. After lunch we took a hike around the lake. About ½ way around, someone spotted what they thought was an otter. Julie got an amazing photo of the little guy grabbing its lunch. We went back to the Ranger station and showed them the picture and they were pretty convinced it was a long tailed weasel.
We then got in the RV and started on a 5.5 hour journey to wind river Wyoming. Turned out to be more like 8 hours with a. stop for dinner at Mitchell’s Restaurant, let’s say this one gets 1 star. We got in after 9:30pm, the site was very level, so we got things setup and we hit the hay within 30min. Tomorrow we have a bunch of driving to get to Yellowstone!
