Home   »   Day 4 – Dad’s BDay and Travel to Kona, HI

Today began nice and slow, Julie went and got breakfast for us all while we slowly got up. We hopped in an Uber which took us to LAX. Made it through security, had some lunch and then waited for our 5 hour flight to Kona. After we arrived in Kona, we got out luggage and went to the rental car place. We picked up a full size Chrystler and made out way to dinner. We had some American fare on the harbor, nothing to write home about (oh, wait I am writing home). We then got in the car an decided to drive up the Volcano and across the island to our next stop. Along the way we saw wild chickens, goats, cows, cats, lots of lava rock, and some trees. We made a stop at Target for some supplies, no cucumbers on the island, and then finally made it to the Rustic Cabin and our stop for the next few days. We learned Tropical Depression Daryl was flying by the island about 100 miles to the south tomorrow so me might get a little wet. But rain stopped no vacation of ours.

Tomorrow, Volcano’s National Park and did I mention we might get wet?
